The Ciocca Center for Principled Entrepreneurship will host the 3rd Colloquium of the 2024–2025 Röpke-Wojtyła Fellowship at the Catholic University of America’s Rome Campus in Italy from June 5-12. This immersive week-long event brings together 16 exceptional Catholic undergraduate seniors from across the United States to explore the intersections of Catholic social thought, political economy, and the free-enterprise system. Guided by distinguished scholars, fellows will engage in rigorous discussions on topics such as the makings of a good society, the civilizing role of commerce, and the philosophy of human flourishing, drawing inspiration from Wilhelm Röpke and Karol Wojtyła (Pope John Paul II). Highlighting the 40th anniversary of Michael Novak’s The Spirit of Democratic Capitalism, this colloquium offers a unique opportunity to delve into the moral foundations of markets amidst the historic backdrop of Rome. Open to fellows only; applications for the 2025–2026 cohort were due May 1, 2025. For more information, contact rw-fellowship@cua.edu.
